Clear MultiWall PC Glazing Tinted Multi-Layered PC Solar Control Glazing Translucent Monolithic Solar Control PC Glazing
PC - Polycarbonate (Lexan)

PolycarbonatePolycarbonate Glazing is one of the strongest clear-as-glass glazing material available today. It is typically 200 times stronger than glass yet weigh less than half which makes it an ideal material for roofing as well as around swimming pools. Its strength makes it an ideal glazing material for windows in high-traffic areas or areas subjected to potential impact (golf courses - ball parks - children's playgrounds etc.)

Key Benefits

  • Virtually unbreakable - 200 times stronger than glass
  • High clarity and light transmission
  • Weather and UV resistant
  • Protects against harmful UV radiation
  • Lightweight (less that half the weight of glass)
  • Available in Monolithic (solid), multi-wall (double or triple) and several colours

Selective Solar Control Performance Chart

Solar Control Polycarbonate is an especially treated synthetic resin that block 99.9% of harmful UV radiation from the sun, allows the full spectrum of visible light through and effectively reduces infra-red (IR) heat-causing radiation.

Solar Control & Infra-Red Protection MultiWall PC Glazing

Solar Control PC is ideally suited for application in areas where protection from the hot blazing sun is required to reduce air-conditioning costs.

In colder climates, polycarbonate can be formulated to absorb heat thereby significantly reducing heating costs in winter. This product is best suited for use with swimming pools, outdoor cafés etc.

Monolithic (solid) Polycarbonate is clearer than glass and is commonly used in high-end prescription eyewear because of its ultra-light weight and distortion-free clarity.

Polycarbonate is a transparent amorphous polymer which exhibits outstanding physical properties such as outstanding impact resistance (almost unbreakable), heat resistance up to 125°C and excellent clarity, although opaque and translucent grades are also available. Commonly used in domed skylights, polycarbonate is used in applications where impact resistance is a requirement. It is the material used in Miami-Dade Approved Hurricane Impact Skylights (where the building code is the most demanding in all of North America) and popular in areas that may be prone to hail damage.

Polycarbonate has many applications especially in areas subject to impact or where broken shards of glass present a serious threat, like around swimming pools and spas. It is also the glazing of choice in areas susceptible to vandalism and break-ins.
